2011 - 2015

Our Humble Beginnings

When Ezedin (Founder and CEO of Icon Africa) was a fourth-grader, He went to repair electronics in 2012, and in addition to his academic study, He had used his free time to make money by repairing electronics. When He was in 7th grade he invented a security alarm using an old cell phone. He applied the technology to his mother's cafe.
November 2017

Ezedin won award on the National STEM innovation competion

When Ezedin joined an innovation competition in 2017, He won first place for three consecutive years in the innovation competitions organized by Wolkite City. In these competitions, He was selected for regional and national competitions In 2017. Ezedin won 2nd rank at the national STEM innovation competition.
November 2019

Ezedin Founded Icon Africa

The outbreak of coronavirus was an opportunity for Ezedin because he thinks the problem is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to create something new. He got a grant of 2,000 dollars to start Icon Africa from NGO. His first product was a hand-wash machine and automatic sanitizer dispenser.

Jouneid Mohammed joined Icon Africa

Ezedin saw amazing strategic plan advising, implementation, and project management skills in Ethiopian Innovator, Juneid Mohammed during his employment on Icon Africa duration from 2020 - 2022. So he accepted Juneid Mohamed as a digital product manager and share ownership of the company's legal equity.
